The Girl Scouts of Troop 2319 completed their Bronze Award just a few weeks ago. Girl Scout Juniors, who are in their second year are eligible to seek the Bronze Award, which is one of the three highest awards in Girl Scouts: Bronze, Silver and Gold. It is a service award where there girls have to put in a certain amount of hours and look at solving a problem within their community. These girls decided on the Conservation of Pollinators, such as butterflies and also the decrease in habitats for Eastern Bluebirds.
These girls put a lot of work into the project. They went to Woodstock Lavender Co. to learn from Mrs. Allison May Horseman about the life cycle of Butterflies and got to visit her amazing Butterfly House. The girls then built birdhouses specific for Blue birds.
