The city has begun work to revitalize Memorial Park. The City of Greater Sudbury said in a release that this is the start of an “exciting transformation that will breathe new life into this historic community gathering place in Sudbury’s downtown.”
Early work this fall includes limbing and pruning trees, restoring turf, installing sod, removing concrete, repairing lockstone, and removing flower gardens and picnic tables. Construction fencing will be installed around the work area to preserve the repaired grounds and ensure public safety.
This initial phase will focus on the northern part of the park and will take place until mid-November. Work on the southern portion of the park is scheduled for early April (weather permitting) and will be completed by mid-June. It will include more turf
