Pion receives a $100,000 prize as well as a three-year artist development program valued at an additional $500,000 — one of the world’s largest awards of its kind

Élisabeth Pion was named the gold laureate of the 2025 Honens International Piano Competition, one of the top piano contests in the world, held in Calgary.

Pion, born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Que., and now a resident of London, was given the title after several rounds, including an English-language interview by Canadian arts journalist Katherine Duncan, and two intensive rounds of recitals.
