GLASTONBURY, Conn. — Glastonbury police believe that someone tried to steal the ATM at Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union early Saturday morning.
The department issued a release Saturday afternoon reporting that around 4:20 a.m., officers responded to the credit union at 81 House St. after an alarm there was activated.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the ATM was damaged. It appeared that someone had attempted unsuccessfully to remove it.
The Glastonbury Fire Department said whoever attempted to break into the ATM instead pulled it off its concrete foundation and caused it to fall over. They used a hydraulic device known as the "Jaws of Life" to assist the business with recovering their property.
