HARTFORD, Conn. — Girl Scouts of Connecticut announced Monday that it will sell its Hartford headquarters to Hartford HealthCare, with plans to vacate the building by Nov. 30.

Elicia Pegues Spearman, CEO of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, said while the organization has "flourished for 113 years" in the state, its Hartford Service Center on 340 Washington St. became "much less utilized by staff, volunteers and members" post-COVID.

"Hartford HealthCare has expanded its footprint and expressed interest in purchasing our building," Spearman said. "This sale supports our long-term sustainability and allows us to find a new location in Hartford County that better meets today's needs for membership, retail sales, and staff operations."
