Liam Taylor is closing in on more Delco football history.
The Haverford senior running back rushed for 241 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Fords (7-3) past Conestoga, 42-7, in Central League action Friday.
With at least two games left – next week’s District 1 Class 6A playoff opener and Thanksgiving with Upper Darby – Taylor is 224 yards shy of breaking Kevin Jones’ 25-year-old career rushing record of 5,790 yards, set at Cardinal O’Hara in 2000.
Taylor has 1,804 yards this season after setting the Delco single-season record last fall with 3,006.
