Anthony Mantha walked into PPG Paints Arena with the hottest new shoe trend.
The Pittsburgh Penguins forward wore sneakers designed by his daughter, Naomie, before the team's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Colorful scribbles adorned the white sneakers on both sides, with the 3-year-old’s name written on the side of one sneaker. “Je t’aime,” French for “I love you,” was written on the back.
Mantha talked about the special sneakers and his daughter during an intermission interview with SportsNet Pittsburgh.
“She’s awesome. She had such a fun time,” Mantha said in the interview. “It was mom’s idea. She was here tonight. She was all excited about me wearing them. I think it took off more than I thought.”
