In 1995, two Devon brothers — Mike and Rob Glover — decided to turn a shared fascination with fireworks into a professional venture. Supported by their father Mel Glover, who lent both practical help and encouragement in the early years, the family effort soon ignited into one of the South West’s most respected display companies.

“Our very first show was for Broadclyst’s VE Day celebrations,” Mike recalls. “It was small, simple, and a bit rough around the edges — but when the sky lit up and everyone cheered, we were hooked. That’s where Sonic Fireworks was born.”

DevonLive reports that those early years were pure graft. “It was just the two of us doing everything,” says Mike. “We’d build racks during the week, fire shows at the weekend, and spend Sunday repacking the kit.
