The Mesa City Council voted recently to introduce an ordinance and to hold a public hearing Nov. 3 for a rezoning request for a proposed urban residential development.

The vote passed 6-0 on Oct. 20, with council member Alicia Goforth absent from the meeting.

The Nov. 3 meeting will be held at 5:45 p.m. at the council chambers, 20 E. Main St.

The ordinance seeks the rezoning of 11 parcels on 60.8 acres to establish a 342-unit single-residence development at the northeast corner of East Warner and the South Hawes roads.

Titled Hawes Village 5, the development would consist of 342 single-family lots of three different sizes, according to council documents. It would also consist of 684 parking garage spaces, 684 spaces in private driveways, 72 on-street parking spaces and 26 designated gu
