The Mesa City Council approved a more than $8 million contract for a construction manager for fuel station improvements at their Oct. 20 meeting.
The vote passed 6-0, with council member Alicia Goforth absent from the meeting.
The $8,099,603 contract was awarded to KEAR Civil Group.
According to council documents, the construction manager will oversee fuel station and site improvements to three sites: the Superstition Substation Fuel Station, the Falcon Fuel Station and the Sixth Street Fuel Station.
“At the Superstition Substation Fuel Station, the current underground storage tanks and fueling island will be removed and a new fueling island with shaded canopy system will be constructed,” the council documents stated. “At the Falcon Fuel Station, leaking below-grade risers housing fuel
