ATHENS, Ga. — A University of Georgia student was assaulted in Downtown Athens by a man wearing a “Nazi uniform,” according to the school.
UGA released a statement about the off-campus incident, saying the school officials were horrified to learn about what happened. They said the man accused of the assault was taken into custody.
"The man is not a student and is not affiliated with the University. His actions, which were caught on videotape, are appalling, and we are grateful to Athens-Clarke County police officers for swiftly apprehending and arresting him," the statement said.
Video of a man dressed in a Nazi uniform in Athens was posted across numerous social media accounts.
