On Sunday at 5:50 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Monday at 2 a.m. for East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades.
The weather service states, "Snow expected above 4500 feet. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph."
"Moderate snowfall with periods of heavy snowfall rates will combine with low visibility to create very difficult driving conditions. Exercise caution if driving on US-20 or other roadways in this area. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches," says the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."
