The organization Leaders for Educational Advocacy and Diversity (LEAD) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday in celebration of their new community center in East Hartford.

LEAD was launched in Danbury back in June of 2021 as a way to provide educational opportunities for people of all backgrounds.

"We have women empowerment, citizenship education, job training, we have a course that helps people open daycares, get technicians or computer classes so there's usually a plethora of services,” said the CEO of LEAD Lucas Pimental

Over the past four years, they’ve opened community centers in six different cities making East Hartford their seventh and largest location.
