BUTTE VALLEY — The Butte College football team used a balanced attack on offense, and its defense held its own in the Roadrunners’ 21-17 win against Shasta on Saturday at Cowan Stadium.
The win for the Roadrunners was their third straight, as they improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in NorCal Conference play with just two games remaining.
On the Roadrunners’ second possession of the game, running back Niall Raby capped a 13-play, 80-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown run to give the Roadrunners a 7-0 lead. Shasta trimmed the lead to 7-3 on a 47-yard field goal by Travis Ross with 48 seconds left in the first quarter. On the Knights’ first possession of the second half Jayden Crace scored on a 1-yard run to give the Knights a 10-7 lead, two plays after Crace completed a 34-yard pass to Jaco
