LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - Another case of bird flu has been detected in northeast Indiana, according to the Indiana State Board of Animal Health.
The agency says the impacted flock of nearly 20,000 was at a LaGrange County commercial egg layer.
The case marks the fifth in the region since the beginning of October, with multiple others detected in both LaGrange and Elkhart counties.
According to the agency, this latest case was confirmed positive on October 21.
The impacted flock has since been depopulated, with a 10km control area active in parts of Elkhart, LaGrange, and Noble Counties, as well as a 20km surveillance zone in portions of the same counties.
Once testing is done to determine that the virus is no longer present, the agency says the quarantine will be lifted, and
