TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Northport man died following a single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Michael Channell, 72, was injured when Volkswagen New Beetle he was driving departed the roadway, hit an embankment and overturned. The crash occurred around 4:27 p.m. on Tuscaloosa County 140 near Sipsey Valley Road.

Channell was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was pronounced dead Saturday.
