PHILADELPHIA – Giants running back Cam Skattebo suffered a gruesome lower-body injury that forced him to be carted off the field in Sunday’s game.
The Giants have not released Skattebo’s official injury diagnosis aside from saying he was out with an ankle injury. At least two medical experts believe he won’t return to a Giants uniform until next season.
With 8:11 left in the second quarter, Skattebo attempted to catch a pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart in the middle of the field when he was brought down by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun. Skattebo suffered a lower-body injury that had his foot pointing in an unnatural direction. The team announced Skattebo was being evaluated for a dislocated ankle and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
