Interstate 610 is open after it was briefly closed in both directions near Elysian Fields Avenue Sunday afternoon due to a downed powerline, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Police said Entergy crews were on scene just before 4 p.m. working to clear the roadway. All lanes were reopened within about 20 minutes.
The closure had created some congestion along I-610 by 4:15 p.m., with stopped traffic stretching from Elysian Fields to Eads Street.
