Two US Navy aircraft crashed in separate incidents today whilst carrying out routine operations, officials have confirmed.
The official account for the US Navy's Pacific fleet revealed both aircraft went down on Sunday, October 26, the first at 2.45pm and the second just 30 minutes later at 3.15pm.
Taking to X the US Navy explained in further detail exactly what happened.
A spokesperson said: "On October 26, 2025 at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time, a U.S. Navy MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the "Battle Cats" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 73 went down in the waters of the South China Sea while conducting routine operations from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68).
