Saturday morning at the Westmaren Condominiums in Ashburn, Virginia was interrupted by a gunshot.

The victim, Billy Gamarra-Olarte, 34, was shot once there and died at the hospital, police said.

A man who asked News4 not to identify him tells us he is Gamarra-Olarte's close friend.

"Billy, he was a really easy going, outgoing guy, like, he wouldn't hurt anybody. He loved animals. He loved his dog very much,” he said.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has not released what led up to the shooting yet.

Gamarra-Olarte's friend says it happened after Gamarra-Olarte's dog got into a fight with another dog in the neighborhood.
