SPANISH FORK — An 85-year-old woman died Sunday night as a result of a multivehicle crash that also forced the closure of a portion of U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork.

The crash happened at 7:50 p.m. when a truck pulling a horse trailer collided with several vehicles that were stopped at a red light in the westbound lanes of U.S. 6 at Spanish Fork Parkway, according to a news release from the Spanish Fork Police Department.

In the release, Lt. Cory Slaymaker said one person, the 85-year-old woman, died after she was taken to a hospital. Her name was not released.

Another person was taken to the hospital in serious condition, the release says.
