NORFOLK, Va. — An area of low pressure offshore will generate gusty northeast winds across the region late Monday into Tuesday. The gusty winds will elevate tide levels for the afternoon high tide on Tuesday.

While most of Hampton Roads will likely deal with minor tidal flooding, some areas, including the Lynnhaven Inlet, Smithfield (Pagan River), and Jamestown/Scotland Ferry (James River), will likely see moderate tidal flooding.

Multiple weather alerts remain in effect across Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks as strong northeast winds drive coastal flooding, dangerous surf, and rough seas through midweek.
