We're looking at a period of beautiful autumn weather right now across northern Illinois and the Rockford area, but we will be keeping a close eye on a developing weather pattern as we move through the week. While we're starting with abundant sunshine and highs in the 60s today, we can expect things to turn a bit cloudier beginning Tuesday with highs dipping slightly into the upper 50s.
Looking ahead, models indicate a storm system approaching from the west, and while much of our immediate area might stay dry, there's a distinct possibility that areas south of I-80 could see some rain showers late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
The forecast suggests temperatures will remain seasonable for this time of year, meaning no drastic cold snaps or unusually warm days expected through next weeke
