India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Sydney hospital after suffering internal bleeding caused by a rib cage injury during the third ODI against Australia on Saturday.
Iyer injured his left rib cage while running backwards from point to take a catch that dismissed Alex Carey. Soon after returning to the dressing room, he fainted, and his vital signs dropped sharply.
The Indian team’s medical staff immediately rushed him to the hospital, where scans revealed a laceration injury to the spleen, leading to internal bleeding.
According to sources, the situation was critical when he was brought in, but he is now medically stable. He remains under observation in the ICU, where doctors are closely monitoring the bleeding. Depending on his
