BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - After a 45 day stretch of dry weather, one low pressure system has the Brazos Valley back on track.

It was needed rain for all across the area this weekend, with a couple areas tallying well over 3 inches of rain with the different rounds of thunderstorms Saturday. (KBTX)

Saturday brought us a double feature of rain and rumbles. Round one rolled through in the first few hours of the day, with several storms generating wind gusts upwards of 60mph and small hail. One system in Grimes County began to spin just after 2:30am - leaving a trail of damage in its wake. The National Weather Service would later confirm that a tornado touched down between Carlos and Shiro.
