GROESBECK, Texas (KBTX) - Groesbeck police identified the victim of a fatal shooting that happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police responded to a report of gunshots near the 100 block of South Waco Street and the 400 block of West State Street. Police say they found Leonard Thomas with gunshot wounds in Hawkins Park.
He was taken to the Limestone Medical Center but was later pronounced dead by Precinct One Justice of the Peace Marcus Hanna.
Police say the shooting stemmed from a possible argument between Thomas and a “second party.” That “second party” ran from the scene before officers arrived.
Groesbeck police say they’re investigating with assistance from the Texas Rangers and the Mart Police Department.
