A pedestrian was badly injured at a Chillicothe business on Walnut Street Saturday afternoon. The state crash report says the 26-year-old male victim was exiting the business when he was struck by a vehicle, which then drove into the business. The 90-year-old driver allegedly mistook the gas pedal for the brake, and accidentally accelerated. The injured man, a resident of Festus, was sent to Hedrick Medical Center seriously injured, and later transferred to Truman Medical Center via LifeFlight.
