Staten Island residents can expect a significant storm system to impact the area Thursday through Thursday night, bringing potentially heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

The National Weather Service has indicated this developing complex frontal system could cause minor flooding in poor drainage areas.

Monday will remain dry and cool with high temperatures only reaching the low to middle 50s degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Overnight temperatures will drop to the upper 30s to low 40s, with winds increasing from the northeast as a developing coastal low pressure system off the southeast coast increases the pressure gradient over the area.
