When we hear the name Joe Rogan, most people might think about the famous podcast host. However, for fight fans, he is one of the original MMA advocates and personalities, who has been a part of the UFC since 1997. Rogan even has his own martial arts background, having earned a black belt in Taekwondo at the age of 15. The 58-year-old even has a black belt in BJJ, so it might surprise fans to know that he actually started with another sport and that had nothing to do with combat.
“The only sport I played, I played baseball when I was a kid,” said Joe Rogan on the JRE podcast. Yes, the prominent MMA figure used to play a team sport. Unfortunately, that did not last too long because when Rogan started doing martial arts, he “quit everything.” And the reason was pretty understandable.
