A recall has been initiated by Hormel Food Sales after it discovered some of its chicken products may have been contaminated with metal pieces. The Minnesota-based food provider announced the recall Saturday, saying it impacts 215,258 cases, or 4,874,815 total pounds of its Fire Braised branded products.
The recalled products were sold to foodservice operators nationwide and bear an establishment number of P-223. The products were not available for the general public to purchase. Hormel says it has properly notified all of its customers who purchased the recalled products.
So far, no injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection to the issue.
A full list of recalled items, product descriptions, and label dates can be found on the Hormel website.
