Wayne Rooney's 15-year-old son Kai has shared an update on his recovery from injury after a heartbreaking Manchester United setback earlier this year.

The eldest son of the United legend hopes to emulate his father's incredible career, but he suffered an injury setback, stating: 'Life couldn't get any worse.'

The youngster clearly has his father's passion for the game and has impressed for United's youth sides this season. He caughgt the eye during the Super Cup NI in Northern Ireland earlier this summer, a tournament in which his father also shone as a youngster at Everton.

Kai was in the midst of a meteoric rise, having been called up to United's Under-19s side, where he competed against professionals four-years older than him.
