3Gun-wielding robbery suspect busted after wild Friday night assault in DC

WASHINGTON, DC – A violent robbery unfolded just after sundown in Northwest when a suspect pulled a gun, beat his victims, and ran off with stolen property—only to be arrested minutes later with the weapon and loot still on him.

Around 8:15 p.m. Friday, a man approached victims near the 200 block of W Street NW, brandished a firearm, and physically assaulted them before demanding their belongings. The victims complied, and the suspect fled the scene with the stolen items.

Not long after, police were alerted to an arrest involving a man carrying a firearm in the area. Officers quickly realized the suspect had property that matched the description of the items taken during the robbery.
