COLUMBUS, Ind. – The State of Indiana sentenced a Columbus man convicted of Armed Robbery to serve 9 years at the Department of Corrections after he violated his probation on Thursday, October 23.
In September 2024, Marc Mathis was arrested and subsequently charged with Armed Robbery, a Level 3 Felony. The Columbus Police Department began an investigation after receiving a report that the Circle K on 450 S had been robbed by a white male, in a ski mask and gloves, who had displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register. Earlier this year Marc Mathis was convicted, and sentenced to a suspended sentence of 9 years, to serve 4 years of that on probation, beginning with serving a minimum of 6 months in the Bartholomew County Work Release Facility.
