On Oct. 22, the Manlius Town Board met to discuss the budget proposed for 2026 and hold a hearing on a motion to override the New York state tax cap. Residents who attended the meeting expressed concerns over a proposed 17.53% property tax hike and higher spending. They called on local officials to be accountable to their constituents and urged them to prepare a budget that would not exceed the 2% tax cap.
