After receiving a Google crash alert Sunday night, Londonderry Township Fire Company officials found one person lying on the side of a Dauphin County highway after their car went over an embankment, into the woods and burst into flames.

The call came in around 8:30 p.m. Sunday to the 8.9-mile marker on Route 283 West, according to the fire company .

While en route, officials said they received multiple calls citing a “vehicle down an embankment,” and “on fire,” with the possibility of someone being trapped inside.

Once at the scene, officials found the injured person on the berm and the car was on fire in the nearby woods.
