Hotel Chocolat has faced backlash from fans of its classic chocolate products after it appears the group may be another victim of 'shrinkflation.'

Online sleuths and regular shoppers with the brand have claimed the total weight of 10 packs of its chocolate sachets used in the chocolatier's Velvetiser has decreased from 350g to 310g - but the price has remained the same.

For a box of chocolate packets it will set you back £14.95 on the retailer’s website, with no price amendment, yet fans have worked out it means each Velvetiser-made hot chocolate has 4g less chocolate than before, which is an 11 per cent fall.

As well as the alleged reduction in chocolate each customer will get in their hot chocolate, it has been revealed the chocolatier has also axed its 250g Drinking Choco
