MADISON (WKOW) — Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced Monday that abortion care is resuming at its health centers.
The move comes after a temporary halt in services due to recent federal budget laws affecting reproductive health care. Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin paused providing abortion services on Oct. 1 after President Trump signed a law that threatened organizations' Medicaid funding if they provided abortions.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America and 23 state attorneys general, including Wisconsin's, are challenging the law in federal court.
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin relinquished its Essential Community Provider designation with Health and Human Services, allowing it to continue receiving Medicaid funds. This decision was in line with the federal law's requirem
