TYLER, Texas — The woman at the center of an Tyler police arrest in May that went viral was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison for assaulting the involved officer.

Brianna Erwin, 33, received multiple sentences in connection with her May 11 arrest by the Tyler Police Department after pleading guilty Monday morning in the 7th District Court.

According to court records, she got 40 years for aggravated assault against a public servant, eight years for harassment of a public servant and one year for possession of a controlled substance. She was also ordered to pay $180 in restitution to the Texas Department of Public Safety under her controlled substance plea.
