CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The University of Virginia football program received another multi-million dollar commitment Friday from an anonymous donor, marking the fourth major gift to the team in the last 10 months.
The announcement comes as the 15th-ranked Cavaliers are enjoying their best start in more than 15 years, holding a 7-1 record.
In the last months, donations for the team’s operations have more than doubled what was secured across the previous eight seasons combined.
“This gift shows that belief in action,” said Head Coach Tony Elliott. “It’s a commitment to our players, to our staff and to what we’re building together here in Charlottesville.”
