Winds swept through western Nevada and the Sierra over the weekend as a storm system pushed across the region.
The National Weather Service in Reno reported widespread gusts above 50 mph, with several areas around Reno and Washoe Valley seeing much higher speeds. Gusts were strong late Sunday afternoon through the evening, though blustery conditions lasted much of the weekend.
NWS Reno's office has several centers that measure wind speeds. Here's a look at where gusts were the strongest Sunday.
Where were the strongest winds in Reno-Tahoe?
The highest gust recorded in the area came from Mount Rose Summit , which topped 100 mph late Sunday. Several other sites across Washoe Valley, Galena and Verdi also saw gusts exceeding 70 mph.
