As if Bruce Springsteen wasn’t busy enough promoting his new movie, he made an appearance in his old Asbury Park stomping grounds this weekend as well.

Fresh off the Thursday release of “ Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere ,” The Boss hopped on stage at iconic concert venue The Stone Pony on Sunday for a benefit hosted by E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt.

The event was billed as “ Little Steven’s Birthday Party at the Pony ” and benefited TeachRock , an education initiative bringing music into classrooms.

Springsteen joined Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul (the house band for the event) for three songs — Eddie Floyd’s “Raise Your Hand,” “I Don’t Want to Go Home” by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and Springsteen classic “Tenth Avenue Freeze-out.”
