GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay man accused of aiding or harboring a felon and obstructing an officer was back in court on Monday.
Court records show David Vanderleest appeared in Brown County Court Monday afternoon for a pretrial conference and withdrew his request for a speedy trial. The trial was originally scheduled to begin on Oct. 29.
The defense said they withdrew the request due to the need for additional information. Judge Thomas Walsh set a status conference for Dec. 1, but Vanderleest will return to court on Nov. 17 for a bond hearing.
David Vanderleest’s son, James Vanderleest, is charged with six counts of bail jumping and first-degree reckless homicide in the death of two-year-old Leo Escalante.
