Two men have been arrested and charged after a car was found on fire outside of a Scots prison last month.

Emergency services were called to the car park of HMP Grampian in Peterhead after reports of a Citroen C3 Cactus on fire in the early hours on Tuesday, September 2.

Firefighters were called to attend the blaze and extinguished it at around 1.15am.

Police Scotland appealed to the public after the incident and two men, aged 29 and 34, have now been charged.

They are due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Tuesday, October 28.
