RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) -- Officials are investigating after a house fire in Rantoul caused an estimated $400,000 worth of damage over the weekend, displacing the two people who lived there.
Rantoul Fire Chief Chad Smith said the fire happened at a two-story home near the intersection of W. Bodwell Avenue and S. Meyers Street around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday.
When firefighters arrived, they noted "heavy smoke and fire" coming from the front porch and the living room. Everyone was outside of the home by the time firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported, Smith added.
