A freeze warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Denver at 12:27 p.m. on Oct. 27. This warning applies to Larimer County below 6,000 feet and northwest Weld County; Boulder and Jefferson counties below 6,000 feet and west Broomfield County; north Douglas County below 6,000 feet and Denver, west Adams and Arapahoe counties as well as east Broomfield County; and Elbert and central and east Douglas counties above 6,000 feet.
The NWS warns: "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly."
