EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan State University Board of Trustees is considering whether to authorize the Administration to proceed with planning for a redeveloped Spartan Gateway District on Friday, October 31.

The planning effort aims to:

Create a destination that attracts visitors, fosters collaboration, and reinforces MSU’s reputation for excellence.

Activate campus life through new commercial and retail opportunities that complement existing assets and showcase the beauty of MSU.

Enhance the student, fan, and alumni experience by developing a vibrant, year-round, multi-use community

On September 6, 2024, the Board authorized initial planning for a project located at Trowbridge and Harrison Road, followed by approval to proceed on April 11, 2025.
