An investigation has been launched after a vile racist incident was reported on a tram to Manchester city centre.

Greater Manchester Police said it was reported that a female passenger on board the service from Didsbury Village had hurled verbal and racist abuse at 'multiple' people on board, with one item being thrown at a passenger.

Police were called about the incident, which occurred at around 3pm on Sunday, October 19. A public appeal has been launched urging victims and witnesses to come forward.

The female is described as being of a large build with short hair which has been dyed orange/ pink, and also has facial tattoos.
