MARION, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Marion Police Department reports it is searching for a suspect considered armed and dangerous after a shooting in a convenience store parking lot on Monday.
Officers said they responded to CJ’s Convenience Store at 1660 North Main Street around 10:30 a.m.
Robert Owens, 40, and a 31-year-old victim had an argument in the parking lot of the store as part of an ongoing dispute. Owens revealed a small-caliber handgun and began shooting at the victim while they were attempting to leave the area in their vehicle, according to police.
Officers report Owens fled the scene in a burgundy 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer.
