Before she can be sentenced for manslaughter, Koree Dockstater is entitled to a Gladue report – but it’s not clear if she will get one.
Dockstater, 34, was found guilty on July 4 in the stabbing death of Shaniquia Henry. At that time, her defence lawyer, Geoff Snow, requested the Oneida woman be the subject of the specialized pre-sentence report for Indigenous offenders.

But on Monday, during a brief court appearance, Superior Court Justice Marc Garson was told the report hasn’t even been started. The preparation of the reports are especially labour-intensive and detailed, plus there has been a concerning backlog for them in London.
