NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has been chosen!
A 75-foot Norway Spruce from East Greenbush, New York, weighing in at 11 tons, is set to make its journey to Rockefeller Center on Nov. 8th.
The tree, which will be adorned with over 50,000 multi-colored, energy-efficient LED lights and a Swarovski star, will be lit during the live broadcast "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" on Dec. 3.
The Christmas tree will be on display through mid-January before being milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
Winter festivities have already arrived at Rockefeller Plaza, as the iconic ice skating rink officially opened for the season.
The famous rink is open from 9 a.m. to midnight daily.
